Ra to take back home is packaging design project which was performed as a requirement of Level II academic design projects.

What is Ra ? An Alcoholic Beverage made out of Sap of Coconut tree. It is fresh and sweet in first 24 hours after collected, then it can become sharp and sour. Contains more alcoholic percentage than beer. “Ra” has more health benefits when consumed fresh or preserved.







The Problem The consumption of “Ra” is limited to low income fisherman, costal area workers and the workers of estates of the hill country.

The Challange Getting attention of a new target audience of Tourists who wants to recall their experience of authentic alcohol beverage consumption in Sri Lanka.

The Target Audience Backpackers who hang around Hikkaduwa area; who admires the hippie culture and Travelers who take Sri Lankan liquor from Duty free retail outlets.

Scope : Level II design project for Bachelor of design
Duration: 4 months
In this project I focused on Prototyping,Branding, Graphics and Illustration

Execution Inventing a Packaging Design Merging Sri Lankan Traditional identity Devil Mask and Hippie identities to bring out a unique identity to rewamped “Ra”
